Burgos Net Zero

Developed by Tecton

Project description

The design of EBP Chile's new headquarters in Santiago was planned as part of EBP's global agenda to achieve carbon neutrality at the corporate level. This project has a provisional Minergie certification.

It has an photovoltaic system for the office and the apartments, the latter having a differentiated system with its own panels to allow better control of energy production and consumption.

The thermal envelope is designed with a double layer of insulation to minimize thermal bridges and reduce the need for heating. It also features optimized solar shading for each façade, with eaves dimensioned according to their orientation, and mobile blinds for differentiated control depending on the season. This helps to reduce the need for cooling in the summer and to let in the sun in the winter to minimize the energy consumption for heating.

The project is characterized by the industrial use of wood in both the main and secondary structures, highly efficient solutions for the thermal envelope and solar shading, and extensive on-site solar energy production, which among other things has allowed it to obtain the "Zero CO₂ Emissions" label awarded by Minergie to buildings that cover all their energy needs through decentralized energy production.
